Xfinity Mobile plan details page

As a lead UX writer at Comcast, I worked on a cross-functional team focusing on Xfinity Mobile customer-facing properties — both in app, and on the Xfinity Mobile marketing website.

When a new pricing structure for Xfinity Mobile was introduced, we needed to create a net new plan details page to provide customers with a clear explanation of their updated plan options.

Approach

Initial mockups

Our design partners presented several ways we could present the new pricing options, exploring the full complexity of its breakdown.

They also explored different page layouts to present this information, and showed us their top options for content’s input.

Content + design

The content team workshopped independently.

We then collaborated with our product design partners directly in the Figma files.

Launch

This was a successful execution of a content-first design process. Historically, product design would request copy from UX writers after designs were close to final.

Because the design team brought in the content team at an early stage, and because they trusted us to make recommendations around layout and component types in addition to copy, we created a more streamlined and elegant user-centric experience than either team would have been able to envision in isolation.
